Doesn't fit were intended06/04/2013

I purchased the Turbo "Single Spark Igniter to replace the 3 unit spark igniter on my older Turbo grill. Even tho the new igniter has the same part no. as the old one, it is a completely different one piece design, whereas the old one was a 2 piece design. As such it cannot be mounted in the hole of the old igniter without interference with the gas pipe or the front wall of the grill itself. I had to locate the igniter to another place on the cover by drilling a new hole so it would miss the gas pipe. This cost an additional $40 for the purchase of an appropriate size step drill to drill the new hole through the grill cover. Barbeques Galore should not be selling the igniter to customers without at least indicating to them what is necessary in order to use this igniter. Otherwise this igniter is useless to them.

I found that the turbo spark ignitor base did not fit my turbo grill (as advertised), so I used the electrical wiring & spark deflector with my old ignitor base to correct the problem. (the replacement base was too thick to fit under the turbo front housing). ( Lucky for me , the problem was not in the base unit)

Gas Grill Igniter04/05/2013

Fit perfectly in our 1996 Turbo XG4TBWN grill without any modifications mentioned in other reviews. It would be nice if the battery installation position was either molded into the case of the igniter or included on the sticker attached to the case. My old igniter had the battery positive end down and this new model requires the positive end up and the resulting confusion resulted in a lot of wasted time. It would be nice if the rubber button cover had UV inhibitors as a year or two in the sun, the cover must be replaced. The OEM pricing and customer service is the best.

Set the Gap10/31/2012

I bought one of these. No spark, until you set the gap close enough so the electricity can jump from the ignitor to the cut out metal point of the metal housing. If it's too far apart, the battery isn't strong enough to produce enough electricity to jump that far.

I was sold one of these by the Barbeques Galore distributor in Chandler AZ. He told me it was bigger than the starter I was replacing but "with some work" it would fit. Well, I worked and worked and finally it fit but then wouldn't work. No spark, nothing! Don't waste your money on this one and don't believe a salesman when he says it will fit "with some work" and then expect it to work!
